Epson Projector range - How to use Epson SlideMaker
Epson Projector range
TABLE OF CONTENTS:
For EMP 715:
When uploading/writing files (via USB) to the projector's PCMCIA card NO presentation can be running as ACCESS WILL BE DENIED.
You MUST safely eject the card from within Windows (Device Manager, My Computer, or the 'Safely Remove Hardware' taskbar icon) before starting the presentation otherwise the presentation will not work.
When Slidemaker has loaded, you will be presented with the following screen. The selection on the left hand side of the window allows you to view files in a way similar to Windows Explorer.
Use the folder tree on the left to browse to the directory that holds your Powerpoint presentation. The files/folders within the selected directory are displayed in the bottom-left of the window; click on your Powerpoint presentation when it is displayed here. Thumbnails of the slides in that presentation will appear to the right, and the actual Powerpoint application will also open so you can edit any slides or preview them.
Select File > New. The Scenario Settings window appears. Name your presentation, select a location to save it, and choose the background colour (used if you have thumbnails).
The 'Image Quality' function can be used to determine the size of each 'Cell' (slide). Your main consideration for the selection is dependant on the size of flash memory card you are using.
After you click OK, the window below will appear, which is your new scenario (a scenario being the EasyMP version of a presentation).
In the file window on the bottom-right, use the left-mouse button to select and drag the presentation you wish to use into the scenario window. The progress meter appears (below) to show you how many slides have been completed.
Once finished, the scenario window is populated with the slides. Here, a slide is referred to as a 'Page'.
Next, you must click Save on the toolbar, or select File > Save. If the scenario is not saved at this stage, you cannot select the 'Transfer Scenario' option in the next step.
Click on the Scenario Option menu, and select Transfer Scenario. If this option is greyed out, it means you haven't saved the document in the previous step.
The Transfer Scenario dialogue appears and prompts you to select a drive to transfer the scenario.
In order to complete this successfully, you must save it direct to the memory card.
If you are using a Laptop, or a Desktop with a card reader, you will have a drive appear as 'Removable Disk'. (In the above example this is F, however the next available letter on your machine will be that which appears.) If you have the projector connected via USB, you can put the memory card into the unit and the 'Removable Disk' will appear, representing the card slot on the unit itself.
The confirmation message below will appear when accepting the driver letter:
Click OK to start the scenario transfer.
When the transfer is complete, you will be prompted to edit the Autorun of your scenario e.g. "Do you want to edit Autorun of (YourScenarioName)":
If you answer 'No' to the prompt (above), the transfer is complete. If you select 'Yes', the 'Edit Autorun' window appears:
This window can be used to make a scenario autorun when the flash memory card is inserted. The list on the left contains the scenarios on the disk/memory card. Add the scenarios you want to the list on the right. Click on a scenario to highlight it, then click the [>>] button. If you want to remove scenarios from the Autorun Scenario List, click on a scenario to highlight it, then click the [<<] button.
When the scenario is on the right, click on the scenario and tick Continuous Play. Click OK.to save the setting and close the 'Edit Autorun' dialogue. Click Save on the toolbar, or File > Save. The scenario is complete.
You now need to put the memory card (in the adapter) into the projector, and press [EasyMP] on the remote to select that source. Choose the relevant scenario, and you can cycle through the slides using [ENTER] for 'forward', and [ESC] for 'back'.
