Epson Apps are unable to find a printer on the network in iOS 14

Relates to:

Issue:

When searching for a network printer using some Epson Apps on iOS 14, the search fails. This is due to new app permission settings in iOS 14.

Solution:

  1. Ensure that you accept the 'OK' option when the following message appears, when attempting to connect to a product.
  2. Ensure the product and iOS device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Check that local network services are enabled in the setting screen, for the Epson app you are using. To check this do the following:
    • Go to Settings.
    • Locate the Epson app you are using in the list of installed apps and tap on it.
    • Ensure the 'Local Network' setting is enabled, if not tap on the option to enable it.
