Windows: If wireless broadcasting has been turned on, the next step is to select the product from the list of wireless networks available on your Windows computer.
Navigate to the Wireless Network Settings.
In the Wireless Network Settings screen, the available Wireless networks will be displayed.
You will need to disconnect from any wireless network that you are currently connected to.
Click on the product in the list - it will be shown as the name that you gave it when assigning a SSID via the printer control panel (in Step 1, we suggested naming it EpsonNet. Click on the product's SSID and click Connect.
An example is shown below for the selection screen in Windows Vista.
Once the wireless network has been selected, close the window.
Insert the Epson Software CD-ROM, supplied with your product. The Epson install menu should appear, follow the on-screen instructions:
Select the required language.
Check that the selected printer model is correct.
Click Next to continue.
Read the Software License Agreement carefully. To continue, click the beside Agree and then click Next.
The next screen will check the install mode that you want to use (i.e. Easy Install, Custom Install, or Single Install). For home users, we recommend that you select the Easy Install option.
All the software in the Required box will be installed as it is necessary.
You will be asked if you want to install the 'Recommended' software.
Click Install to continue.
The drivers and software will now be installed:
Select Network as the connection method, and then click Next.
The next screen refers you to the Network Settings manual, for more instructions to follow during setup. Click Next:
This will launch the Epson Easy Network Setup wizard. Your firewall or anti-spyware software may display warnings during the installation.
If a firewall warning appears for an SEIKO EPSON program such as EasyInstall, it is important to click Unblock or Allow to permit the Epson program as it is needed for the installation process. The installation will fail if the Epson software is blocked.
For Mac OS X:
Configure your firewall software to allow network access for EpsonNet EasyInstall.
For Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, and Windows Vista:
When installing the printer you may see this Windows firewall warning screen. Do not select Ask Me Later, Block or Keep Blocking.
If you use commercially available antivirus software and see a firewall warning for EasyInstall, create an exception for EpsonNet EasyInstall to allow it to carry out network configurations.
In Windows, the Epson program is located on the CD-ROM: D:\APPS\EasyInstall\EasyInstall.exe.
At the next screen, select the option "Set up an additional computer to use the printer". This will ensure the install program is able to identify the product correctly. Click Next.
If Stage 2 of the setup appears, it will ask you to select the connection method. Select Method 2 - Connect directly to the computer (ADVANCED). However, ignore the on-screen instruction and do not connect the printer to the computer as the connection method we will use will be wireless.
You may see the pop-up message below. Do not connect an Ethernet cable. Click OK:
If you see the following pop-up message, click OK to continue. This is a reminder that if a firewall message appears you must Allow or Unblock any SEIKO EPSON software required for the installation.
The software searches for and displays a list of any Epson products visible on the network. Select the Epson product you wish to install and configure across the wireless network, and click Next:
At the next screen, titled "Select a Printer", you can select the product you wish to install and configure across the wireless network. The list will be populated with any products that are visible on the network. Select the desired model and click Next to continue.
Once the printer has been selected and you have clicked Next, you will be asked to select the network communication type. Select Wireless, and click Next:
In Windows Vista, the installation will move to stage 7, detecting the printer's network settings. Click here to jump to the step.
In Windows XP, if the printer network settings selected no security (Open), the installation will move to stage 7. Click here to jump to the step.
In Windows XP, if you selected the printer's Ad Hoc network settings to a secure network e.g. with an encryption key, you may have to select the SSID, and enter the encryption key. Click on the (+) icon to view the help.
At the screen titled "Choose a Wireless Network", the installer automatically displays the available wireless networks in range and sorts them by signal strength. Select the same SSID (wireless network name) as you entered on your Epson product (e.g. 'EpsonNet'). Click Next.
If the SSID is hidden for security reasons, you will need to click on 'Manually Enter Network Name (SSID)' and type the SSID in the box provided.
If you choose to manually enter the SSID, take care to enter it exactly as entered on the product's Network Settings in step 1. ) We recommended EpsonNet be set as the SSID on the product, however if you have set a different SSID you must enter this, taking care to enter it exactly as it was entered on the product (noting any uppercase or lower case characters and numbers).
If you have not set an encryption key for the Ad Hoc network connection, do not enter a key. If an encryption key was set, you must enter the WEP key or WPA pass-phrase for the wireless network.
"Confirm Settings": Verify that the settings are correct, then click on Next. Click Back if you need to alter any settings.
When network connection settings are successful, a yellow or green indicator is displayed beside the printer name. When network connection settings fail, a red indicator is displayed. Click Next to continue.
If a red indicator is displayed, the WEP Key or WPA passphrase may have been entered incorrectly. Also check that the printer is still powered on. Restore the printer to the default settings then click Start Again. See the following Related Article if you require help with this step: How do I restore my All-In-One to the default settings?
Printer Name: Check that the printer name is correct. You have the option to rename the printer - as it appears in Printers / Printers and Faxes, and the option of setting the product as the default printer. Click Next.
The Status screen will appear. Wait while the port configuration and final configuration of the printer takes place. Once all items are complete, click Next.
When the installation is complete, a green indicator is displayed beside the printer name and you see the screen below Network.
Print Test Page: Select Yes if you want to print a Test Page to confirm the printer and connection. Click Next to continue.
Installation Complete. The setup has finished and the product is ready to use:
